Website Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This notice is about the website at moon-journal.com — specifically the forms and visit statistics on this site. The Moon Journal app is separate and keeps your journal on your device; for how the app handles data, see the app Privacy Policy.
Moon Journal is a product of Phoenix Fire IT (Magnolia, Texas). When you visit this website, a small amount of information may be collected as described below. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell your information.
Information the website collects
When you use a form. The site offers a launch-notification form and a contact form. If you use them, we collect the email address you enter (and, on the contact form, your name and message). We use these only to reply to you and to let you know when the app launches — nothing else. No spam, and you can ask us to remove your email at any time.
Visit statistics. We use a privacy-focused, self-hosted analytics tool (Umami) to understand site usage in aggregate — page views, referring sites, general region, and device type. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not identify you personally.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies — our analytics is cookieless by design. Because we set no non-essential cookies, no cookie-consent banner is required to browse the site.
How we use and share it
- Form submissions are used only to respond to you and to send the launch notice you requested.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We share information only with providers that help us operate the site and deliver email, and only as needed to do so, or if required by law.
- Loading this site may involve providers that deliver fonts and icons (such as Google Fonts and Cloudflare); your browser's request may expose your IP address to them as part of normal web delivery.
Data retention
We keep form submissions only as long as needed to respond and to send the launch notice, plus a reasonable records period, after which they are deleted. Aggregate analytics data is retained in non-identifying form.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (including under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, or to have your email removed, contact chris@phoenixfireit.com.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has contacted us, let us know and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this notice from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change when we do.
